Papa Bue: Live In Copenhagen

The Viking Jazzband was formed in 1956 by Danish trombonist Arne "Papa Bue” Jensen , and is still the most popular traditional Jazzband in Denmark. Throughout their sparkling career they have had two long-term engagements in Copenhagen: for many years they were the in-house band at the famous Restaurant Vingaarden, and in later years they were the band in Tivoli’s Jazzhouse Slukefter and the regular Sunday band at one of the outdoor stages in the Tivoli Garden. These two sessions are from those venues. Live In Copenhagen features a stellar cast, and has been compared to Louis Armstrong among others. The jazz is exciting and high-quality, and the overall result highly enjoyable.
