Peter Almqvist (b.1957) is a superior cool-toned Swedish guitarist, who has been described as the “safe hands” for the future of Jazz Guitar. His playing is both fluid and tasteful. Having formed his own Trio in 1988, since then he has toured extensively - often alongside the late, great Art Farmer . In 1996 the Trio came together with the legendary Blue Note pianist Horace Parlan . The resulting CD, Peter Almqvist Trio With Horace Parlan features many satisfying solos by both artists, and is easily recommended for any jazz collector.
