Thus, they provided perfect backing for the three guest soloists ? Harry ?Sweets? Edison, Eddie ?Lockjaw? Davis and Richard Boone ? all alumni of the Count Basie Band. While there is a distinct Kansas City/Count Basie feel to this album, the repertoire also includes some Horace Silver bop classics and Louis Jordan jump-jive favourites.
