The Danish Radio Big Band: Spirituals (LP)

Released to celebrate Vincent Nilsson’s 40 year anniversary as a prominent member of The Danish Radio Big Band, this album contains 12 spirituals recorded by DRBB and arranged and conducted by Nilsson, who described it as a “dream-project”. It combines Nilsson’s skills as a long time arranger for the big band with his close relationship to spirituals and gospels. The Danish Radio Big Band: Spirituals LP contains well-known and lesser-known spirituals, including Were You There, Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child, When The Saints Go Marching In and more, in new and jazzy arrangements.
