Ultrasound-Guided PICC Training Simulator
Peripherally inserted Central Catheter(PICC) is considered to be a safe approach in placing a catheter in the central line and use of ultrasound guidance is recommended to reduce risk to patients. This simulator is the one and only model which provides training in full procedural skills from the needle insertion, manipulation of the PICC, to placement of the distal tip in the SVC. Both basilic and cephalic veins are prepared for access to set different levels of challenges in cannnulation. The ultrasound-able puncture site is replaceable. The movable shoulder allows for training in positioning of the arm to avoid possible malposition of the catheter. Anatomically correct bifurcation of the vein in the upper chest provides realistic resistance of its outer walls and enables simulators of complications such as malposition of the catheter into the jugular, the thoracodorsal or the subclavian. The simulator is ideal for hands-on training of residents, specialist nurses and radiographers. Features Excellent image quality and visualization of the needle tip for ultrasound guided venous access Movable shoulder to demonstrate positioning Realistic flashback in needle provides confirmation for successful venous access Ribs and right clavicle provide anatomical understanding of correct PICC placement Anatomically correct bifurcation of the vein Simulation of cannula malposition Skills Ensure patient comfort and position Hand hygiene and prepare sterile field Identify puncture site Ultrasound-guided insertion Insertion of dilator and guide wire Insertion of sheath Insertion of catheter Set includes 1 Male upper torso with the right arm2 PICC puncture pad10 simulated blood sticks(swab type)1 syringe1 jar1 instruction manual1 carrying bag
