Martin, Frank - Mass for Double Choir a capella
Frank Martin's style of composition is characterized by elements of French Impressionism, modern tonality and expressive musical language. His double choir a cappella mass was composed between 1922 and 1926 but it was not performed until 1963 in Hamburg. It has been a great favourite with capable choirs since its first publication by Bärenreiter in 1972 (BA 5419). It can be performed equally well in the concert hall and the church. This first ever Urtext edition is based on the autograph score as well as on previously disregarded preliminary studies. The preface and Critical Commentary provide an insight into the genesis and history of the work. The larger format ensures a clearly improved readability. • First Urtext edition of Frank Martin’s masterwork • Newly engraved in a larger format (23 x 30 cm) • Preface (Ger/Eng) and Critical Commentary (Eng) For Double Choir a cappella Revised Urtext edition of BA 5419 choral score, Urtext edition 2mixed choir-SATB Hæftet udgave Content: · Vorwort · Preface · Composer / Author: Martin, Frank Mass for Double Choir a cappella: Instrumentation: Mixed choir (SATB) (2) · Kyrie · Gloria · Credo · Sanctus · Agnus Dei · Critical Commentary Detailed product information Volume / Series: BÄRENREITER URTEXT Editor: Wissemann, Antje Instrumentation of the work: Choir Language(s) of work: Latin Language(s) of text: German, English Product format: Choral score, Urtext edition Instrumentation: Mixed choir (SATB) (2) Comments: Revised Urtext edition of BA 5419 Binding: Stapled Pages / Format: VI, 48 S. - 30,0 x 23,0 cm
